Turned By Grace

Magnolia. My first Magnolia piece wasn’t as well done as it could have been. Every time I would start in with my gouge it would catch and shred the bottom hold near the chuck. To be honest, I thought it was hopeless which was tremendously upsetting considering how beautiful Magnolia can be. One night, I was feeling inspired to try it out again. The first time I tried turning the internal portion of the bowl across the grain. I knew that didn’t work out for me. So, lets try end grain… It worked!! It truly was a great moment as I saw the result nearing. It was a sweet turn with sounds of Otis Redding in the background to woo me on to completion! God is good! Can’t wait for more Magnolia inspired nights!
